Ice Cold Iceland

Members from Vulcan Trucking partook in a trip around Iceland on Promods server 1. With more and more getting involved, the convoys are getting larger and sophisticated.

A trucker from the VTC, Alice, says “I have been in for a couple of days and have enjoyed the community, humour and the journeys that have been in offer so far. I hope to see the VTC grow with more members influenced to join.”

Iceland was a good trip, few crashes especially driving on central Iceland through the snowy roads. Promods all in all offers a vast experience especially for truckers who want to try something new. Convoy-wise it is a great experience however expect to go slower in some places. Lukckily however, there wasnt long queues apart from Turkish Truckers representing their reckless driving.

The Eastern Beast

So.. Iceland Rejykavik- hopefully spelt that right is the nicer part being a bit more urban and flat but the East.. yes we get it a port and its ridiculous location but that played a proper challenge for truckers take for example I myself the great leader flipped around three times not to mention the others - hey at least we know driving heavy loads on tight corners require a slow speed. We got to the port (forgot the name) and went down to a much calmer Faroe Islands before continuing to Bergen

Join our discord today if you would like to get involved, were looking to do a tad bit of Turkey next ;)

Two year break.. Where have we gone?

Two years since a post.. Two years since a convoy

The VTL VTC was founded in the depths of COVID times when everyone was at home either from education or furloughed from full-time work. Since then, its fair to say alot has changed.

The original group of the VTC are mostly working, and have come off from continuous gaming which has meant in a reduction of meets and convoys overtime. It is an occasion where the others will come on the game to drive, which is mainly Christmas. I myself only play when I have the time - but when you find a job driving vans for UPS you dont see much pleasure jumping on after a hard week to do some more driving especially on TruckersMP from Calais - Duisburg.

The plan was to hand the group to someone else, but it would've just ended in this state. Despite it being shortlived, it was a good idea - and a fun journey of fun despite the difficult times that were imposed due to the lockdown rules.

Whilst there still won't be many news updates, I intend to keep the VTC open for myself and an archive of the countless hours and journeys completed.

The Vulcan Trucking League formed on the 3rd of February 2021, came into mind in a discord VC, which we are sure a lot of VTC's started this way. The plans to extend the company into multiplatform occurred.

The Vulcan Truckers League's name was fairly easy, from Vulcan Defence League, a non-biased organisation based in the UK with Eastern counterparts decided to create the VTC in a mindset to promote fun as the game is and a sense of community to those wanting to connect on the platform.

Currently, this VTC has future plans however nothing too much will be disclosed at the moment in this post.

Short post here, mainly because I'm a bit tired!

VTL Did another convoy, seen rummaging around Italy and then over to Spain. It was a very fun and enjoyable convoy and pretty calm too!

We started at Milano, down on the western coast to then Island then over to Barcelona. The trip only consisted on some of us getting some damage, it was expected. Seeing us roaming around in one fat line in our black and white livery - it was bound especially on tight turns and sleek corners. When we got to the Island of Sicily - all was calmer and the trip up to Barcelona.

Anyone willing to join, do it, and join the discord server.

Double trailers can be a nightmare, especially your standard SC's. When you go do a convoy, and have that one person get stuck because his centre trailer gap is caught on the lampost - things go wrong.

Crash

Yeah.. so since we couldnt just magically F7 to the nearest city, it would be back at the garage we started from.. but it was okay.. we started again and went down this time tense because that road was coming up. Luckily, everyone got through with no harm - the real harm was a couple players swerving but they suddenly got some well deserved karma smacking into an off ramp divider.

This convoy was on the 16/02/2021, bit of a late post..

So don't get me wrong. Promods have done a good job but of course the real scaling and modelling would have been done by SCS. The UK promods, especially London is a beautiful drive. Going around the M25 making your way to central London, Southeast England is a fascinating place. But lets just imagine PROMODS never existed. Imagine, a dull gridded map. Unfortunately, not every UK city has been refurbished to the way we want which is different roads and ungridded areas. ETS 2's scaling is a big downfall to of which the UK cannot be heavily upgraded.

Anyhow, we slide from it we went from London this time doing a bit of the nice welsh coast up onto the M1 going north from going east - I've confused you already. We headed North passing the beautiful Edinburgh and Inverness then going up to the Faroe Islands. This was a much smaller group trucking but still relatively fun - few bumps and rams included.
