Private Convoys

We are known for hosting our Public Weekly Convoys every Tuesday, but did you know we also regularly host Private Convoys for our drivers? Ever since the start of these on 15/05/2022, they have been a continuing success within GPE.

During our Private Convoys, we do not only drive from A to B, but also host special events. These include Cops & Robbers, Heavy Haul Challenges and more!

Pride Month

For this month we organised a special edition to support Pride Month. GPE stands for a community where everyone can be themselves and feels welcome!

This adventure was a trip from Gothenburg to Bergen through the breathtaking scenery of the Scandinavia DLC. We all drove in different colours of the rainbow to support the LGBTQIA+ Community. We wanted to change it up a bit, so we did this in the Public Alternating Vehicles.

Our drivers really enjoyed this event and cannot wait for more!

GPE Rebrand

Drivers Hub

This month, our brand new drivers hub launched to our drivers! This state-of-the-art system is fully developed in house by us and is tailored to the specifications of GPE. As we highlighted in an earlier blog post (found here), we’ve embodied our minimalistic design throughout the website and gave it the signature “gold” accent throughout. We hope that providing our own drivers hub allows us to provide a better experience for everyone on our driving force and keep our family trucking going.

Drivers Hub Updates (August)

*This month our development team has again worked hard on updates for the Drivers Hub, let's see what has changed.

The following has been added:

• Added a minimizable sidebar.
• Added a feedback button.
• Added a new loading notification for job submissions.
• Added job statistics to the jobs page.
• Added the member guide to the hub.
• Added a recent jobs section to the dashboard, showing the 10 latest jobs.
• Made usernames/avatars clickable on the job view page.
• Made leaderboard users clickable, redirecting to the user's profile page.
• Added a new design for the downloads page.
• Added a new design for the members page.
• Displayed the "Public Relations Team" role on the members page.

The following has been updated:

• Updated the sidebar icons and active design.
• Updated the dashboard design.
• Updated the leaderboard design.
• Updated the jobs design.
• Updated the colour palette (darker).
• Updated the profile page design to match other pages.
• Re-coded the dashboard page.
• Updated the radio design.
• Updated all users to now use their Discord profile picture:
  • To create better recognizability between the hub and Discord.
  • Prevents many accounts from lacking avatars.
• Made a minor update to the event calendar (colour and banner sizes).
• Updated to show the next event when there are no events for the current day.
• Made leaderboard users clickable, redirecting to the user's profile page.
• Updated the design for the new downloads page.
• Updated the design for the new members page.
• Displayed the "Public Relations Team" role on the members page.

The following has been improved:

• Improved the jobs page loading times.
• Improved the profile page loading times.
• Improved the reliability of radio stations.
• Improved the loading time on the dashboard.
• Improved the loading time on the leaderboard (note: the monthly leaderboard is slower due to Google's API).
• Reduced the font weight on the sidebar to make the text clearer.

The following has been fixed:

• Fixed the issue where job submissions now show the submitted notification.
• Fixed the problem with job submissions not processing.
• Fixed the job rank displaying a different amount of kilometers than the job kilometers.
• Fixed deleted users breaking the recent jobs section on the dashboard.
• Fixed the bot displaying an incorrect number of drivers in the status.

The following has been removed:

• Removed the suggestions feature from the polls page.
• Removed the changelog popup after updates.
• Removed the Q-dance radio station.
• Removed the Top 3 Monthly leaderboards from the dashboard.

That's really a lot of updates this month, a huge thanks again for the hard work to our development team!

On the 14th of February we had our Valentines Special convoy. The convoy took place in Latvia from Valmiera to Paldiski. However, there was a small special. We didn't just drive the convoy route, we drove in a circle around the city of Tartu to show a connection and make the route more attractive. It was a lovely convoy with a lot of fun involved.

Welcome to the seventeenth edition of our Shining Stars series, where we highlight the amazing individuals that make up the GPE family. This time, we're proud to shine the spotlight on Hockerto, one of our dedicated German drivers.

What is your favourite part about our family?

I really love GPE's core values. GPE puts focus on a family feeling and a great experience instead of great numbers and achievements which is something I really enjoy.

What do you typically drive and where do you drive it?

I really like to vary my trucks but the most common one is probably a Scania S. I do not really have any specific areas where I explicitly drive but lately I have been down in the West Balkans and Greece area a lot.

What game is better: ETS2 or ATS? (Why)

I personally prefer ETS2 over ATS for multiple reasons. First of all, I feel like the scenery has a bigger variety in ETS2 meaning that you do not always see the same kind of desert but there are greater variations between terrains and scenery. Also, as I like european trucks a lot more than american ones so ETS2 just offers more for me and my interests. Additionally, I mainly play TruckersMP and only very very rarely go into Singleplayer. There are not many players ever playing ATS on TMP meaning that ETS2 just has a better experience when playing on TruckersMP.

What other games do you play?

Besides ETS2 and ATS, I play a very wide variety of games. I also play some other simulation games like Bus Simulator 18 or Farming Simulator 25. But I also play a lot of different other genres. Reaching from horror with Phasmophobia over survival horror like The Forest and Sons of the Forest up to games like Subnautica or Raft. But I have really played a lot of different genres so you can also find Tycoon games lik House Flipper 2 or story games like It Takes Two or Split Fiction in my library. I am always on the lookout for new games and try quite a lot of new ones together with my friend.

Why did you join the GPE Family?

I was on the lookout for a new VTC and I had already seen and heard a lot of good things about GPE. I looked further into it and discovered that GPE represents the same core values that I was looking for as already mentioned before. I also noticed that GPE has built a pretty good reputation within the TruckersMP community due to their frequent high quality convoys and their exclusiveness but also inclusiveness.

What is your dream job?

I am luckily able to work my dream job at the moment. My absolute dream job has always been to become a paramedic and I have been able to fulfil that dream and get into that job which really excites me. I think that this is a very fulfilling and exciting job being able to help a lot of people and always being challenged by new tasks every shift.

What would you say is one thing you have learned whilst in GPE?

Whilst being in GPE I have been able to get to know a lot of people and I have also been able to take over a few different tasks already. I think that over the time I have been able to learn a lot about what I like to do and where my best skills are. So GPE has helped me in my personal development already.

What are your hobbies?

Besides my job as a paramedic, I engage in an aid organization for disaster control and medical services at major events. This does really give me a different perspective as working at major events is something completely different than working on the normal job. I also do a lot of work for TruckersMP as Moderator and Media Team which I do also consider as a hobby.

What 1 word sums up your TruckersMP experience?

Community.

Finally, what would be your one bit of advice to a new driver on TruckersMP?

Please, try to be respectul to others.

Development History

We started with our own Development Project in April of last year. Ever since then we have our focus on two main projects: our Website and our New Interactive DriversHub.

GPE Website: Our website launched on 18/02/2023. This was a huge milestone for us: a professional website for the community and new members. This website was created by Developers spidermax89 and JCBBuilds.

Testing Team

Recently we have launched our Testing Team; A brand new position within GPE which allows individuals whom are dedicated, reliable & responsible to help GPE Management & the Development Team to evaluate & trial projects GPE has under development.

These individuals will be assisting by providing constructive feedback towards anything ranging from design / user interface & more! This would thus allow us to have the opportunity to grow & develop, providing our Family with the best experience we can offer!

Right, so the Deliver Haulie event over on TruckersMP has just come to an end, and we are proud to recognize the outstanding performance of the Golden Phoenix Express drivers. Throughout the competition, the GPE team have been hauling the special Deliver Haulie cargos with great dedication and care.

Driver Spotlights | A Closer Look at Our Top 3 Heroes!

Here’s a closer look at the top three drivers who went above and beyond during the event!

The_Sem

The_Sem’s been putting in a top performance covering a total of 42,739 kilometres! Every time someone got close to his lead, he’d jump back on TMP, get another haulie job done, and take back his spot. A well-earned 1st place no doubt about it!

FayezTMP

FayezTMP wasn’t far behind, covering 36,077 kilometres! He’s been putting in the effort throughout and funnily enough kept meeting The_Sem on the Calais–Duisburg road while doing jobs. They have had a bit of a friendly competition going on, but sometimes you’d catch them haulin’ together along with other GPE Drivers!

Cary’s done a great job all through the event, covering 30,545 kilometres! He’s been spotted about Duisburg quite often, active and getting those hauls done. Well done, mate!

We are well underway in October, and what does that mean for us? Let’s take a look back at the convoys we hosted in September!

Golden Phoenix Express #129

A drive from Laredo to Corpus Christi, hauling energy through the heart of southern Texas.

September rolled in with a great Texan road trip, starting out in Laredo, right by the border and full of culture and San Agustin Plaza gave the place a lively vibe. From there, we headed northeast through South Texas passing by big open ranches and colourful wildflower fields that went on for miles. The convoy ended in Corpus Christi, right by the sea, with a nice breeze and the USS Lexington nearby. It was a great drive!

Golden Phoenix Express #130

A journey from Varna to Pirdop, winding through the scenic roads of eastern Bulgaria.

This convoy took us across the heart of Bulgaria. We started our trip in Varna by the Black Sea. From there, we drove west, passing some nice towns and city sights. We finished in the quiet mountain town of Pirdop. It was a nice and easy drive with great views.

A journey from Oslo to Östersund on ETS2 ProMods TruckersMP, travelling through the stunning landscapes of Scandinavia.

This convoy took us from Oslo through some lovely Scandinavian countryside. We started our trip in the lively city of Oslo, then made our way through peaceful forests and quiet roads. The journey ended in Östersund, a quiet town with lovely scenery and beautiful landscapes. It was an enjoyable drive!

A trip from Valladolid to A Coruña, travelling through the heart of Spain’s northwest.

This convoy took us on a great drive across northern Spain. Starting in Valladolid, we travelled northwest through some towns and countryside. The convoy ended in A Coruña, a calm city by the sea. It was as easy as well as an enjoyable trip. Thanks to everyone who joined!

A journey from Brest to La Rochelle, crossing the scenic roads of western France.

We closed out September with a great convoy from Brest to La Rochelle. Starting in the coastal city of Brest, we travelled down through the beautiful roads of western France. Along the way, we passed some charming towns and peaceful countryside. The journey finished in La Rochelle. It was an enjoyable drive all around. A warm and memorable way to end the month. Thanks to everyone who took part!

What is your favourite part about our family?

The familiar and friendly atmosphere of the VTC between Drivers and Managers: everyone is there for everyone and helps whenever they can.

What do you typically drive and where do you drive it?

I normally haul all sorts of cargo and I'm mostly on the road on the TruckersMP Simulation/ProMods Servers.

What game is better: ETS2 or ATS? (Why)

I prefer ETS2 because I like driving in Europe. I find the European trucks much more interesting than the American ones.

What other games do you play?

I mainly play ETS2 (TruckersMP), otherwise I play simulation games and games like Rocket League and GTA V.

Why did you join the GPE Family?

I have known GPE since 2020/2021, when GPE was still a small newly opened VTC. At that time I had my own VTC, and I have seen and realised over time that GPE is the right VTC for me. They have active VTC members, are active on the roads of TruckersMP, and have a family like VTC atmosphere. Everyone is always there for each other and you are treated more as a human then just a driver or a number.

What is your dream job?

I would say I don't really have a ‘real’ dream job. Maybe I would like to become a bus or a truck driver. But, I am someone who would do anything, so nothing would be too bad for me.

What would you say is one thing you have learned whilst in GPE?

I can't say too much about it yet, as I've not been in GPE for that long, but what I can say is that I've got to know a lot of people, and if you decide to join the General voice channel on the GPE Discord server, it's always fun.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies are doing outdoor activities, such as cycling or swimming, relaxing at home in the garden or on the PC. I also love being on the road in TruckersMP when I have the time. I also stream Events or just drive tours on my Twitch channel. Lastly I like to help with problems, or at Events as Media/Event Staff.

What 1 word sums up your TruckersMP experience?

Community!

Finally, what would be your one bit of advice to a new driver on TruckersMP?

I would tell every new TruckersMP player to read the TruckersMP Rules carefully, and if they have any questions, just ask.

Golden Phoenix Express #127

A journey from Norwich to London, crossing the bustling roads of southern England.

August rolled in with a picturesque British journey, starting out in Norwich, known for its stunning medieval cathedral and the charming cobbled lanes of Elm Hill. From there, we headed down through East Anglia passing by Cambridge and catching a few glimpses of the old colleges and the River Cam flowing gently alongside us. The convoy ended in the capital, London, where the skyline greeted us with the iconic Big Ben, Tower Bridge, and the lively streets of Covent Garden. A classic and charming route to remember!

A journey from Kavala to Athens, winding through the sun-soaked landscapes of Greece.

We closed out August with a stunning drive through Greece, starting from the coastal beauty of Kavala, known for its Byzantine castle and scenic harbor views. From there our route took us south through Thessaloniki, passing the White Tower and the vibrant Aristotelous Square. We continued through Lamia, a town full of charm and history, before finishing in Athens, where ancient monuments like the Acropolis and Parthenon meet the energy of modern city life. A warm and memorable way to end the month.

Welcome to the eighteenth edition of our Shining Stars series, where we highlight the amazing individuals that make up the GPE family. This time, we're proud to shine the spotlight on Anderssnorway, one of our dedicated Norwegian drivers.

GPE Shining Stars #18 - Anderssnorway!

What is your favourite part about our family?

My favorite part must be that it feels like being in a family. Everyone is mostly open to conversation, whether it’s a joke or not.

What do you typically drive and where do you drive it?

I have always driven a Volvo FH, but during convoys, I drive a Scania, the electric one.

What game is better: ETS2 or ATS? (Why)

I prefer ATS because of the graphics, they make it look better. But at the same time, ETS2 is more fun because of TMP.

What other games do you play?

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

Why did you join the GPE Family?

I joined this family because it’s the best VTC in the community, friendly environment, great people. I also absolutely love doing the occasional flight using AI ATC software.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be to become an airline captain, but reality took over so I enjoy simming instead.

What would you say is one thing you have learned whilst in GPE?

How convoys work from the ground and up.

What are your hobbies?

Mainly ETS2/ATS and flight sim. I also like to go bowling now and then, and I hit the gym sometimes.

What 1 word sums up your TruckersMP experience?

Fun!

Finally, what would be your one bit of advice to a new driver on TruckersMP?

Drive safely and don’t get banned! If you’re not used to driving, it’s best to avoid CD Road.

What is your favourite part about our family?

The union we have between all of us.

What do you typically drive and where do you drive it?

I usually drive my Scania R NG Midlift in with GPE colours with my double container trailer or my my very special Schmitz Cargobull Trailer at C-D Route & In ProMods (Norway - Iceland).

What game is better: ETS2 or ATS? (Why)

I would say both games are good, ETS2 has a lot of dlcs to explore + ProMods just like ATS.

What other games do you play?

Rocket League, a lot of GTA 5 on my ps4, Fall Guys, Warzone, Roblox, and Minecraft.

Why did you join the GPE Family?

It was of my interest to join a VTC that has a highly reputation within the TruckersMP community and a well known team so I decided to give it a try.

What is your dream job?

I currently do not have any dream job.

What would you say is one thing you have learned whilst in GPE?

Drive professionally.

What are your hobbies?

Football, table games & ETS2/ATS.

What 1 word sums up your TruckersMP experience?

Friendship.

Finally, what would be your one bit of advice to a new driver on TruckersMP?

Do not drive with keyboard, especially on the Calais - Duisburg road, and read all the TruckersMP rules.

Fox7y asked me if I'd like to help out in CC for a convoy, which I accepted. Then I hesitated a bit to become a driver, as I really liked the colors

Don't drive too much in northwestern Germany, because there are a lot of people driving there
