Enabling the two-factor authenticator (2FA) is a way to get some extra safety for your TruckersMP account. Enabling the 2FA is pretty simple, but to do so, you must have an authenticator application on your smartphone, for example. There are multiple different authentication applications available, you can always read reviews about them and decide which one is the best for you.

To enable the 2FA, follow this guide:

1. Sign in to your TruckersMP account on the website
2. Hover over the Account tab.
3. Click on "Settings".
4. Select the 4th tab which is called "Account Settings".
5. Under the 'Two Factor Authentication', you will be able to see the button "Enable Two Factor Authentication", click on it.
6. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code that you can see on the screen.

Remember back up codes!

If you followed the steps given carefully, the 2FA should be set up on your TruckersMP profile now. However, as soon as you activated the 2FA, backup codes should have appeared on your screen. Make sure that you copy or screenshot them! This is a very important step since you will need the backup codes if you're unable to log in to your authentication application for some reason.
