This guide will guide you through the process of installing Grimes' winter modification, for use on TruckersMP in the 2023-2024 season.

This year all add-ons from the Grimes Winter mod will be supported, including the physics add-on, as we have deemed this to be stable on our servers. Please be aware that you are still responsible for your vehicle and all TruckersMP rules are still enforced. We recommend using the physics add-on on our Arcade servers. For experienced drivers, you are welcome to drive on our Simulation servers but please be careful and drive in less populated areas.

Before we start, please keep in mind that you are fully responsible for using this add-on along with any rule violations caused by using this.

With the Winter Mod available, the automatic check for lights has been changed to:
ATS: 18:00 (6 PM) - 09:00 (9 AM)
ETS2: 17:00 (5 PM) - 09:00 (9 AM)

The modification can be installed in two ways for both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. You can either download it with advertisements for free or download it without advertisements for US$1. Both links can be found below.

TruckersMP are not the creators or distributors of the modifications found below. We are not responsible for the file, the purchasing process, or the page that is owned by the mod creator or their partners.

From here, you need to create a folder in your ATSMP or ETS2MP directory (this is usually located in your documents) with the name “mod”. Your ATSMP directory should look like this:

Your ETS2MP directory should look like this:

After that, proceed to move the modification into the mod folder, ensuring that you do not rename them - they must be exactly as shown above. Make sure the file names are exactly the same and do not contain additions such as "(1)", otherwise, you will not be able to connect to the server. Your ATSMP mod folder should now look like this:

Your ETS2MP mod folder should now look like this:

Your folders might have fewer files, depending on which optional add-ons you installed.
Now you should be able to log in and connect to the server with the Winter Mod enabled.

Note: Do not change file names or their content. Only when using unmodified files will you be able to connect to the servers. Also only use the official download links provided by the mod author and never use download links provided by others.

Troubleshooting

"Error when joining the server"

  • It is possible that the files are corrupted and you need to re-download them. Make sure that the files are fully downloaded before you transfer them into your mod folder.
  • Ensure that you have not renamed any of the files.
  • If you downloaded the ETS2 mod before December 10th, please re-download the files as the mod author pushed an update on that day.

"Not appearing in the Mod Manager"

  • Make sure that you have installed them in the correct directory, rather than in the standard American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder, it should be in the ATSMP or ETS2MP folder respectively. Just like with ProMods, the Winter Mod files will not appear in your Mod Manager when you launch TruckersMP, this is normal. If the Winter Mod files are in the correct folder, they will be picked up by our launcher.
