Q: Can you tell us a little about what got you into gaming?

A: I think my earliest memory of me playing a game for the first time in my life was when I was little and my parents took me to their friends house for dinner. Later that evening their son showed me his PC and some game about driving/racing monster trucks on an arena with ramps. I got into it so much that I carried on playing despite their son switching the lights off and going to bed, and I didn't stop until we had to leave lol. I can't remember the name of the game nor exactly how old I was at the time, maybe 5/6. I'm really bad at tracking my age with certain points of my life. At the time my game sessions were very occasional as I didn't have anything to play on at home and got to play only when I was visiting someone with a PC/console, or got lucky to borrow one for a while. That changed when I was around 7/8 - that's when I got my own PS2 for Christmas. My parents didn't want to spend any more money on it than it already cost so I could only play some demo discs the console came with and some pirated games my dad got from his friend for me, one of which was Need for Speed: Carbon - my first ever Need for Speed game, which instantly became my absolute favourite at the time and which I hold close to my heart to this day. Unfortunately, that journey didn't live for very long as I made a horrific mistake of placing a fat PS2 vertically lol. So another couple years of playing with Hot Wheels and Lego bricks later and I got my first ever PC when I was 9 and I've been playing games regularly ever since.

Q: Did you play SCS Software Games before joining Viva Trucking? Do you have any favourite SCS Software games?

A: Yes, quite a few actually. The first one being 18 Wheels of Steel: Hard Truck on my older sister's PC on occasion (as mentioned above). When I got my first PC I somehow stumbled upon Euro Truck Simulator, the first one, and I liked it so much it made me want to try out other games from the studio like the majority of 18 Wheels of Steel series, Bus Driver and German Truck Simulator. I didn't play them for very long however and I eventually came back to ETS as I liked it the most and especially since it had my country in it (Poland). Few years later I found out Euro Truck Simulator 2 came out from some YouTube video, so I went and asked my mom for some money, went to the store, bought it and was met with disappointment that it couldn't run on my PC. So I had to put it on the shelf as my dream game to play in the future and go back to watching other people play it on YouTube, although I could play it from time to time on someone else's PC. 2014, the future came - I got a better PC and I could finally embark on a journey across Europe in next gen! That's also when I found out about Steam and created an account as it was required to be able to play on TruckersMP. Few years after that I found out about Scania Truck Driving Simulator and played it for a while before coming back to ETS2. When American Truck Simulator came out it wasn't big on me at first and I didn't consider getting it since I'm not American, nor even been to America ever, but addiction and desire for a new adventure finally got to me and I bought it in 2018, which is my most recent purchased game from SCS Software. In terms of my favourite games it would be Euro Truck Simulator 2 for essentially being my "backyard" and American Truck Simulator I enjoy just as much as it has it's own magic to it, the atmosphere, the trucks and views that are not seen in Europe. I also have to give some nostalgia points to Euro Truck Simulator and 18 Wheels of Steel: Hard Truck, but I don't play them anymore since they became kinda obsolete with the current versions. Maybe some day I will revisit them.

Q: What other games are you currently playing? Any favourites?

A: I'm currently playing; Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator, Forza Motorsport 7 and I recently came back to DiRT 3 (after a 6/7 year break) due to recent passing of my idol and one of the few people I truly admired - Ken Block. It's been 8 days and it's still hard for me to get over it. If you don't know him you should check out (at least) one of his "Gymkhana" videos on YouTube - the guy was truly a legend and from what he was doing it seemed like he was invincible (pic from "Climbkhana"). As of recent I used to play; Remnant: From the Ashes, Squad and Valheim. Other of my favourites, but not playing at the moment are; Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, The Sims 3, Terraria, DiRT 4, Forza Horizon (all), Dead by Daylight, For Honor, Burnout Paradise, The Division 2, Grand Theft Auto V, Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Wildlands, F1 2021, SnowRunner, Battlefield 4, Prominence Poker (lol), Project CARS 2, Need for Speed (all), Minecraft, Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky, Metro Exodus and The Final Station.

Q: What brought you to Viva Trucking and its community?

A: I just wanted to enhance the feel and overall enjoyment of the game I'm playing a lot of and meet some people and friends to chat and play with. The first time I heard about you guys was actually your ad over on TruckersFM radio while driving on TruckersMP itself a long time ago lol. I thought it was super cool you guys were recognized by real trucking companies and thought of trying it out, but I was in another "VTC" at the time consisting of just me and 2 of my other buddies, which weren't very active anyway. So at the beginning of this month/year I decided to leave that sinking boat and join something real for the first time and honestly, I don't regret it one bit.

Q: What are your favourite features of Viva Trucking?

A: Well, the fact that you've been recognized by real truck drivers made me smell the bait. Speciality Divisions had me take it. The wholesome community got me reeled in.

Q: What are your greatest achievements in a game, ETS2/ATS or otherwise?

A: Hmm, good question. I've never really given myself anything big to achieve. The first one to come to mind though would be this. As of ETS2, approaching 1,000 hours is pretty good as well. Nothing notable in ATS though (yet)

Q: What are your favourite truck & trailer type in ETS2/ATS and why?

A: In ETS2 it has to go to the new Scania S. For ATS it would be the Freightliner Cascadia. In terms of trailers (both games) I really like full-box sized ones, like Curtainsider, Dry Van, Insulated, Reefer and Container - they just make the truck and trailer become like a one bullet cutting through air.

Q: What kind of other hobbies do you enjoy outside of gaming?

A: Outside of gaming there isn't much going on right now. I really enjoyed karting when it was warmer however. I've always wanted to go to a shooting range as well and planning on doing so in the future. I would also like to try out ASG (Air Soft Gun) and when I get enough money I would love to do some racing with real cars, but it's a much bigger project.

Q: If you aren't one already, would you like to be a real truck driver, why/why not?

A: The first time I played Euro Truck Simulator as a kid I thought it must be cool to travel the world and get paid for it, but as the time passed I started noticing the downsides of that profession and they deterred me from that plan a bit. Now being a bigger boy I learned to peek through those downsides and appreciate the upsides more and I think I'm gonna actually go for it. I've got big plans and dreams that are not cheap and nowadays truck drivers are in high demand. I'm young with a whole life ahead of me which you have only one of and statistics show that you fail at everything you don't try, so what's there to lose.

Q: Share a fun fact about yourself. Anything is fair game!

A: Can it me more than one fact? I'm sure you won't mind.

  • I love cars and everything related to them.
  • I love dogs.
  • I love Italian food (Spaghetti, Pizza, Lasagne, Tiramisu and will try more in the future).
  • My favourite colour is orange.
  • I'm Polish, yet I don't drink lol.
  • The tag before my name (AWR) stands for "Anti-Wreckers Racing" - it's a racing community from Forza Motorsport 7 that I'm a part of since spring 2019.
  • My dream car is a Mercedes-Benz C63 W204 AMG Coupe Black Series (pic, and you can also see it in the form of pixel art I'm using everywhere I can as my avatar, and as well as my wallpapers lol).
