This month we had 8 new driver applications, with 4 of those accepted! We are so pleased that growth has continued to be steady and we are so excited to keep accepting new drivers. The future of OSL is bright!

Our July convoy was OSL’s first with Convoy Control! Emma, a Co-Founder and Event Manager, ran the CC and said that the event went very smoothly and wanted to thank Busman, Dylan, HandOfClash, Lightning, DrunknFoxes and Santi for showing up to help on such short notice. There will be improvement within the event management to make events even better and more convenient in the future, with hopes of introducing the use of CC more regularly. We are also working on bringing more internal convoys to light for our Drivers!

I know that many of you are excited for our Driver’s Hub, and I have a quick update for you! The Application System has now been completed, and testing is going well. We are hoping to soon have the system ready for initial testing by the Management team but so far we are now working on the announcement system and then we will look at other systems that need completing.

Next month has some exciting things in store, we hope to see you at our next public event which is now in the planning stages! Keep up to date with what’s going on in our discord server.

In hopes of expanding his portfolio Kid Fabi agreed to help me out developing the internal systems for OSL. He has agreed to implement and develop lots of exciting features for us to use and it even involves a brand new website (which I will be helping on, don't worry I will have someone with me at all times). Not long after Kid Fabi's offer to help, came Coolio85's, in hopes of getting back into coding he offered to help Fabi on the driver's hub as well as coding us a Discord bot to run alongside our other systems.

It was a great surprise when all of these offers came our way but it will definitely help us achieve some great developments in terms of our own internal systems. For those who are keen to find out more, we are now recruiting at OSL and it won't be long until I can start revealing some of the key features we have coming for all of our drivers!

The layout and way of writing these will differ over the months as I get to grips with what I like and dislike but personally, I think this will be a good start. So, where to begin?

Well, this is the first few days that OSL has been open to the public and it has been quite fun. We opened our Discord and as of right now we have currently hit the Level 1 boosts and we have encouraged our Founder Emma to have a go at making a cool server icon for us. However, she claims it's going to take a bit of effort - no one can really be sure though. On top of opening the Discord, I have personally begun developing the website. It took a bit of time but not having just released Version 1.2 it is progressing quite well with plans to start work on the login and registry system for our Driver's Hub in the near future.

We have also recruited our first driver. First of many to come I am sure and we are looking forward to getting out and about as a group - hoping to attract some lone driver's into our VTC. Welcoming new driver's is going to be very fun over the coming months, I hope that in February's round-up we have a growing number of driver's but who knows what the future will bring! We may have less - but with a bit of luck, we will grow a bit bigger over time.

So... what are some future plans? Well, I think the biggest of them all right now, at least for myself, is to finally get some work started on the functionality of our Driver's Hub. I have currently got a very cool design prepared and now we have to begin working on the functions of that itself - hopefully, we will be able to give you some progress on that in next month's instalment.

I would also like to hope that we have organised our first event - possibly a small convoy for both OSL and some friends to join us.

It has been a long and tiring journey so far but we are very proud of what we have achieved. We are looking forward to the coming months of welcoming new drivers and also finalising our new website and drivers hub!

Recently we also did a promotional video shoot which will soon be edited together and released, and added on to our new website once it is finally completed. Thanks to everyone for the support as of late and I am looking forward to the future ahead of us!

Over the last month, we have gained 6 new members! We are so happy that the VTC continues to grow, and we appreciate everyone who believes in the future of OceanSide Logistics. We hope that you stick around to see what happens.

In other news, we would like to congratulate our first Driver-turned-Manager, Kye! Kye is now the first manager of our Event Team and was crucial in planning our April Convoy. We are looking forward to see what he brings to OSL and the events that are curated by him!

Speaking of OSL’s monthly convoys, March’s went great. We had a huge turnout and everyone had fun! We are grateful to everyone that came.

We’ve had fun in other convoys as well. Over the last month, OSL has participated in plenty of convoys hosted by other VTCs, and we appreciate everyone who has been able to show up and show support for OSL. With our growing events team, we should hopefully be able to attend more events in the future!

And for those of you who are curious, there has been more progress made on our Drivers Hub! Our development team has finished the new Application System and started the Permissions System. It looks promising that is for sure

Our biggest achievement this month is definitely getting validated; we couldn’t have done it without the continued support from our team and from those in our Discord! It has been one hell of a journey so far and being validated finally shows us what we can achieve together as a team. Now we are on our way to verification and we hope we can write about this in the near future.

Beyond that, we have been working hard on developing our drivers hub and V2 website. Which, we are happy to say is coming on greatly. On top of this, the development team has also been working on our Discord bot which is really helping us out at the moment with making internal announcements and so on. Once integrated with our hub we will reap the benefits of this bot even more! The website itself is finally complete and we are planning to release this alongside the completed drivers hub once everything is done. Our current plan is to test the hub and its systems in April, and hopefully, if we stay on track with our progress this will be more than possible! Here is a sneak preview of what is coming:

Moving on… in February we also generated some growth and gained a lot of drivers. We also started our hiring process for internal teams such as the event team, media team, and public relations. This will help us moving forward and hopefully encourage possible applicants to apply - if you’re thinking of applying then we look forward to seeing you soon!

Our next public convoy is planned for March 6th which will be some great fun! We look forward to telling you all about it in the next summary. We are also planning to hold more internal drives for our drivers which will hopefully help bring us closer to the community atmosphere we are here to promote.

May has not been a crazy month for us, things are finally starting to settle here at OSL and we are coming to terms with our different systems of communication and also how different things work in the most productive way. Therefore, we took a bit of a relaxing break through May. That certainly doesn’t mean we got up to nothing though! Our drivers were still working hard and as a result of our two new award introductions, we can now show our appreciation as a management team!

So, we had our first vote as a management team and after a few discussions we came to our conclusion. Alongside this we had our first Picture of the Month winner and this picture was used as our Discord server banner as a result of some extra boosts from a kind person who is now a part of our team!

We also ran our monthly event as usual and this was our biggest yet. With 93 people signed up on our event page and over 50 in attendance, we are hoping to get hold of a private event server soon and this should make our convoys even more successful and fun for people to take part in. On top of this we have also been regularly attending other VTC’s events and here are some pictures below!

Finally, to end our summary for May we would also like to mention that our Driver’s Hub is so close to being in the testing stages, KId Fabi has been working hard to complete the user management system and once done we are one step closer to a fully functional Driver’s Hub for our drivers to use on a daily basis!

OSL Picture of the Month - May

Once again we are back to announce our winner for POTM and this month we had some amazing entries, it was really hard to choose which one we liked the most.

This month the chosen winner is EuroLuke who took a great photo with an amazing sunset in the background which really makes the OSL paintjob look great! As a result we found this to be our POTM for this month.

OSL Driver of the Month - May

In April we partook in our first Driver of the Month vote internally amongst management. This is the second vote and it was a difficult decision between the nominations that we presented to us,

In the end we decided that one of our newer drivers DarkMetal485 was deserving of the award due to their creation of an awesome timelapse for OSL and this was amazing to watch. They have also worked hard and collected quite a few miles since becoming apart of OSL, which we are very proud to see!

Once again we are back to announce our winner for POTM, we had a few less entires than usual this month but as per usual, all of them were some great entries and it was a difficult choice. This month the chosen winner is Crankyy. The picture shows off the OSL paintjob really well in some amazing dusk lighting, it gives an impact to the image that we thought really stood out from the rest.

OSL Driver of the Month - August

Last month was an unfortunate one for our drivers. The person who was eventually chosen decided to leave the VTC on the same day and as a result we had to miss last month, but do not fear, we are back! This month we had a lot of new drivers join us and so it was really difficult to choose one out of the entire team.

For August the selected winner was NoWarTV. NoWar recently joined the VTC and has since attended many events, and has been very active in our Discord. Once completing his unlicensed trial, we decided that NoWar fit really well into our team and as a result we chose to select him for this month's Driver of the Month!

OSL Driver of the Month - April

In April we partook in our first Driver of the Month vote internally amongst management. This was a new experience for us and it took some time to narrow down the winner.

In the end we decided that one of our newest drivers Komo02DK was deserving of the award due to their activity with miles as well as attending events. This was really nice to see, especially from a new driver and therefore it was decided that they'd take the award this month.

Keep up the hard work Komo, it is really great to see!

We were looking forward to writing another article for the summary of the month but unfortunately we do not have much to discuss. Unlike the previous months August has been quite a chilled out one. We have been making some steps into getting back on track in the VTC and over the summer break we have taken some time to step back and review things.

Therefore, this month's summary hasn't got much to it unfortunately. We hope you understand and we look into September for a much more active and exciting month!

OSL Picture of the Month - April

In April we held our first POTM competition which allowed drivers to take and edit one photo to enter into a competition that'd be decided my the Founding Team. We had a few entries and they all looked great.

This month the chosen winner is SpeedyThomas who took a great photo with vibrant colours which made the OSL paintjob look amazing! We were really happy with the photo and because of this we thought they deserved to win.

Well over the last month we have welcomed 4 new drivers with a total of 12 applications over the past month. It was a great month for new drivers and all of them have settled in really well, attending events alongside us and logging lots of miles!

In April we also introduced a new award system, this includes both Driver of the Month as well as Picture of the Month. Which both allow drivers to show off their editing skills as well as their commitment both to the VTC but the effort they put in. Recognising drivers for this really allows us as management to show our appreciation.

We also welcomed a few people to the management team over April such as Dylan R and Crankyy who both joined the Human Resources Team and have been working super hard dealing with applications and internal matters. Congratulations!

As always we hosted our public monthly convoy this month and we had an amazing turnout, one which overwhelmed the team quite a bit. In total around 36 people showed up and joined us for the drive. We really appreciate everyone showing up, it was a great event and we had so much fun organising and holding it.

Internally we also held one of our first private convoys and we allowed drivers to come together and decide on where they wanted to go, the freedom was great and we hope to have these more often when we aren’t attending other events. It was great to just drive and talk.

We had a few VTCs join us too! Including the likes of Forza, NGT, LKW, CSG and Outcast Trucking. It was really great to have their support in what is only our third event. We were really happy to see them there.

Hopefully in our fourth event we can venture into France or another DLC area to see some of the lovely sights that have been curated by SCS!

Currently, with the main page and about-us section being completed the focus is now on our own Driver's Hub. The design and layout for this code is already done and it won't be long until the functionality is added. Our plans for the driver's hub include functional progress bars and a counter for miles. This will help our driver's identify how far away they are from a specific driver rank as well as how many miles they have achieved that month.

We would like to apologise for lack of activity in recent months here at Ocean Side logistics. With the ending of Lock down restrictions in the UK , our managers have had more and more IRL commitments to attend meaning they have less time to put in the VTC.

However, Myself and Picky are trying to regain activity within the community and try and get some VTC public convoys back up and running. With hat being said, be sure to keep an eye on our discord server for more updates.

OSL Picture of the Month - June

Once again we are back to announce our winner for POTM and this month we had some amazing entries, it was really hard to choose which one we liked the most.

OSL Driver of the Month - June

We are now getting into the flow of things with out monthly Driver of the Month celebrations. It is always a fun time of the month when the management team all place their votes on a nominated individual!

For June the selected winner was Louie_TMP. Louie is always trying his best for OSL, whether that be as a driver collecting thousands of miles or as an event team member offering to help send invites and more. He is a really helpful member of OSL who has come a very long way!

In comparison to May, June has been a quiet month. Lots of people went on LOA for a short holiday and there was not a lot of action as per usual in OSL. It was a month of relaxation and refreshment really, ready for us to hopefully get back into action for July and August as the summer holidays come nearer and people are more free for events and so on!

One exciting thing that occurred in May was the introduction of two new Event Managers. Unfortunately one left recently but following the departure of Kye, Jagman has worked hard to keep OSL running events-wise and now we are looking forward to our July convoy which will hopefully see us using an event server, but who knows?! Talking of Kye's departure from the management team, he has recently returned and now we have two very hard-working Event Managers working together to produce high quality events and et us signed up and organised for ones to attend.

One hot topic of conversation recently has been the Driver's Hub, Kid Fabi has been hard to work behind the scenes preparing more useful things for the Driver's Hub, recently the profile area and roles have been completed and they're looking great! We cannot wait to release the initial version in the coming months so that we can organise and communicate much more easily.

We also finalised our ATS paintjob which was requested by many, it is apart of the Stripes Paintjob DLC and it looks great! We can't wait to attend some ATS events and get it out in the public eye.
