The task at hand for our #BestCommunityEver is to achieve the community goal of delivering 20,000,000 tonnes of cargo, either to or from Switzerland. The connecting country can be any. This accomplishment will boost Switzerland’s imports and exports to all neighbouring countries including even those from afar.

As you help build Switzerland’s international trade connections, you will begin to experience the wide array of changes and additions that were so painstakingly and lovingly worked on. In particular the reworked cities of Bern, Geneva and Zurich, their connecting roads, highways and historical areas, not to mention the magnificent Alps, with some challenging routes to discover and incredible views. And, since the Swiss consume more chocolate per capita than any other European country, it seems fitting that we’ve added the new Charmey chocolate industry, as part of the new and more realistic economy. Rules:

Using External Contracts or External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in Euro Truck Simulator 2, the community goal is to deliver 20,000,000 tonnes of cargo to Switzerland from any other country or vice versa.

Players will achieve their personal goal by completing cargo deliveries between Switzerland and 10 different countries.

All jobs for the event need to be at least 200 km, or more.

You can check if your recent deliveries met these conditions using your Log Book in your World of Trucks profile.

Rewards:

Personal: Players that complete 10 or more deliveries, of any cargo, will gain a unique World of Trucks Achievement, a Matterhorn cabin item and 3 random country pennant drops, including a rare Switzerland pennant, as Steam inventory items for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Community: When the community goal of achieving 20,000,000 tonnes of cargo to or from Switzerland is met and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a Saint Bernard plush as a Steam inventory item for their cabin.

The event will be concluded on Sunday the 14th of July at 23:59 UTC.

Trucky’s first standalone application, the Mods Manager, is now available.

Downloading mods from TruckyMods.io will be even easier, thanks to the new client, with improved library and download management.

The new client will also be usable on Linux, and a Mac version will be released soon.

In addition, you will be able to follow all the updates of your favorite creators directly from the client and always be up-to-date on new releases, and uploads with detailed changelogs.

By today, Trucky for Windows will be updated to reflect this change, the built-in Mods Manager will no longer be included, but you will not lose your local library, the new Mods Manager will retrieve it as soon as it is installed.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 has just been updated to version 1.50, and very quickly SCS has also released the public version of the Dedicated Server for 1.50.

128 Slots

Trucky immediately adapted to this change: as of today you can upgrade your dedicated servers – or, of course, buy one – with up to 128 slots!

But be careful: the pricing component has not been updated yet, and having the 128-slot servers is an EXPERIMENT, we have to evaluate what is the impact of so many users connected to the server on the current infrastructure, if the infrastructure needs an upgrade or if the servers with so many slots need larger instances. You get this experiment as the same price of 8 slots. Awesome, isn’t it?

For the moment we have not updated the prices for the Dedicated Server Hosting service but we might do it in the future after have evaluated impacts.

Beta Channels

Also, you can now choose the Beta channel for your servers: for example, already for American Truck Simulator servers, you can choose the “Public Beta” channel that will upgrade your servers to Public Beta 1.50.

This field is available immediately on Trucky Hub site https://hub.truckyapp.com/ , will be deployed on the client version soon.

There is a new field called “Betas” on the server configuration page that allows you to change versions.

Of course there is always a need for a reboot after each change – in version change it may take a little extra time to complete the reboot procedure.

The maximum slots setting is valid, of course, for servers from version 1.50 onward; for servers 1.49 and down, it is irrelevant, it will always be 8.

You can even downgrade the server to 1.49 if you want to stick your game version on 1.49 and continuining to use a dedicated server – not tested this extensively.

Please keep in mind that Beta Channels are always managed from SCS via Steam updates.

How to see a server with 128 slots in the Convoy Browser?

SCS has sanctioned that they will always support as a “natural” configuration, the maximum 8 slots. So to see a server with 128 slots you need a small natural modification, in two ways:

From the console

Open the in-game console and type: g_max_convoy_size 128 and press Enter.

From the configuration file

Find the home directory of the game, usually “c:\users<your username>\documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2”, open the file config.cfg with a text editor, and edit the config key g_max_convoy_size to 128, the line should look like this:

uset g_max_convoy_size “128”

This operation must be performend with game closed.

Note on performance The Dedicated Server Hosting service has been online for more than a year now, and we have learned many things.

Certainly, one of the things that affects the performance and load of a dedicated server the most are the basic settings — such as the number of AIs or traffic, but most importantly, the Mods.

If you think you can load up to 100 mods, huge, complex, full of bugs and errors in consoles, maybe not totally supported by the server version and you think everything works like a charm, I’m sorry, but you are deluded. And in this Trucky has no responsibility.

Besides, if you consider the new hardware features required by the game, the whole thing gets more complicated.

Employee Mode:

In the Employee Mode you are employed in some virtual company or you can drive on your own. Job deliveries are automatically recorded in your logbook. You can also see your and company statistics and rankings.

Manager Mode:

You will create your own company and manage it. You will hire new employees who will drive for your company.

What do I need?:

Just register and download our program used for interaction with the game. It will automatically record your job deliveries to TrucksBook and communicate with the game. Then you can start exploring all possibilities of TrucksBook.

Statistics

Compare yourself with others! Show the competing company that you are better than them and drive larger distance. Or just show off to your friend!

Map

Watch your colleagues on a virtual map. If they are in the multiplayer, you can connect to them and drive together. And if you accidentaly lost them, you can find them right away.

Company Management

As a company manager you can easily manage your entire company directly on the website, including your profile, logo, rules, dashboard, and other settings. At the same time, you can track your company's internal statistics and a complete logbook of your employees. There is also an integrated chat for convenient communication between employees.

Dispatch

Individual companies can choose their dispatcher who can conveniently assign custom jobs to their employees or create offers for them using only the web interface. You can also add your own jobs the same way individually. Using our program, you can then accept (or reject) the job, thanks to which it will subsequently appear in the game where you can deliver it.

Convoys

Managing convoys has never been easier. You can create your own convoy directly on the website and inform other players about it, or you can join someone else's already scheduled convoy.

Forum

Forum is the center of communication between all TrucksBook users. You can ask questions there, report bugs, show your company, or discuss with others.
