While many are busy celebrating and hunting for Easter eggs, our drivers are also staying active on the roads. In singleplayer, they are driving with our special custom Easter skin, and at the same time we are actively participating in the TruckersMP Easter Event.

At the moment, we are not yet in the top 20, but we are steadily working our way up step by step. Our goal is clear: reaching the top 20 before the end of the event!

At Global Cargo we use our own custom-developed system called Trucksweb. This is our main platform where we manage drivers, job logging and all other features. We do support Dutch and English applications, applications writen in other langangues will be decliened and you will be asked to reapply in 1 of the 2 langagues as that is also int he requirments.

Our system is leading. This means as long as you are a member there, we consider you a member. You must apply on Trucksweb first before we can accept you anywhere else.

Before applying, make sure you meet the following requirements:

• You own an official version of Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator
• You are at least 15 years old
• You must be able to communicate in English or Dutch
• You have more than 50 hours in ETS2 or ATS
• Your TruckersMP ban history and VTC history are public during the application period
• You have not had a ban in the past 3 months
• You respect everyone both inside and outside the VTC
• You follow TruckersMP rules at all times
• You submit at least 1 job or participate in 1 event every 3 months

How to Apply

Log in with your Steam account so we can check your playtime. If your hours are not showing correctly, make sure your Steam profile and game details and hours are set to public.

After applying on our website, you must also apply on TruckersMP: https://truckersmp.com/vtc/72-global-cargo

Application Process

Once you apply, our admissions team is notified immediately. They will review your application, including your ban history, VTC history, and Trucky profile(if you have one.

Applications are usually handled within a few hours, but it can take up to 24 hours.

After Applying

If accepted, you will be added to Trucksweb and receive an email with login details and further instructions. This email will also explain how to link your Discord to receive your roles and remind you to apply on TruckersMP if needed.

If declined, you will also receive an email.

Please check your spam folder if you do not see any email.

Additional Information

We are currently working on a system that will automatically add you to Trucky when you are accepted. Trucky is optional and not required, as Trucksweb is our main system.

After announcing the departure of beany001 as Event Manager to our staff members, we had several discussions with some of our current Event Staff to see if they were interested in stepping up to the Event Manager role.

Luckily, we had a few people who were interested, even after we informed them about what the role involves and that they would receive a large number of event invites through our ticket system

With 1,450 tickets / event invites received in the last 2 years, this also means declining many events. Considering there are only 730 days in 2 years, attending every request would mean joining two public convoys every single day to make everyone happy—which simply isn’t possible. Realistically, we usually attend a maximum of two public events per week.

Even after hearing these numbers, some staff members were still interested in managing the Events team and handling the tickets.

After careful consideration, Management has decided that TheLord77 will be joining the Event Manager team.

TheLord77 has been part of our Events Team since July 2023 and is now being promoted to Event Manager. He will work together with Mascotte149 to manage the Events team, create our public events, and respond to incoming event tickets.

Beany started on the day Global Cargo was founded (10 august 2020) as part of the Events Staff. After 3 years and 3 months as Event Staff, he was promoted to Event Manager in November 2023.

After serving 2 years and 2 months as Event Manager at Global Cargo, he has decided to step down from this role. Due to changes in his real-life work, he has less free time available, and his interest in managing all events has decreased. Because of this, he felt it was the right time to stop as Event Manager.

Some stats from his time as Event Manager:

• During his 2 years and 2 months as Event Manager
• He handled 400 event tickets on our Discord with requests to join events from other VTCs
• In addition to that, he opened many tickets on other Discord servers to book event slots

Beany001 will not be leaving the staff team at Global Cargo. He will remain part of the Events team and will continue organizing internal events and attending public events, so you will still see him leading Global Cargo on the road.

We, as Management, would like to thank him for all the work he has done as Event Manager, and we are very happy that he will stay active within the Events team.

For now, Mascotte149 will be our only Event Manager while we look into the options of adding a second Event Manager again.

Every now and then, we receive some truly entertaining emails. Sometimes a real company reaches out to ask whether we can export several freight shipments for them. That’s when we have to politely explain that we’re a virtual transport company, and that everything we do takes place inside a trucking simulation game.

We also often get messages about purchasing truck accessories. That one gave us a good laugh. As a result, our management team now proudly drives around with the most impressive beacons mounted on top of our cars.

And then there are the emails from people interested in joining our VTC. These are always welcome, and we make sure to respond with the information they need. Alongside these come the usual bits of spam, which we handle just as diligently.

A VTC With Real-World Responsibilities

Even though we operate in a virtual environment, our VTC does have a real-world presence—registered as a non-profit organization. This means our management is also responsible for proper bookkeeping. Where does the money go? How is it used? Everything must be recorded accurately. No funds can disappear, and transparency is key.

Being a non-profit also means regular meetings. And yes, coordinating these can be a challenge because everyone has their own real-life commitments. But we always make it work.

Supporting Our Members

Managing a VTC isn’t only about tasks and organization—it’s about people. We take responsibility for the atmosphere within our community. Our HR team plays a crucial role here, keeping an eye out for potential issues. If concerns arise, they open a case file to document everything.

When a member may need to be removed from the VTC, the process is always handled with care. HR speaks with the individual first and prepares a detailed case file. The management team then reviews it thoroughly and votes on the outcome. Options range from “case dismissed” to removal—with or without the possibility of returning in the future.

Fortunately, the toughest decisions are rare. Most importantly, no one is ever removed by a single person acting alone. We believe strongly in checks, balance, and fairness.

Because at the end of the day, we’re not just managers—we’re fellow members of Global Cargo. We share the same passion for truck simulation games and work hard to make our VTC a welcoming community for everyone.

This month we’ll be heading out on the beautiful reworked roads of of Scandinavia in ETS2. We are still aiming to hold this event on a event server so we can use all the sign-ups on the event page as well

Last Thursday, the long-awaited moment finally arrived. For many people in our VTC, this was an environment they really wanted to have (yes, we already had it in promods).

The first players were already driving around in single player within five minutes, but it didn't take long for TMP to get an update ready either. Within an hour and a half after release, it was already possible to drive around online.

Our members are making good use of both options to discover the new DLC. Below are a few of the screenshots.

Starting a Virtual Trucking Company (VTC) is easier said than done. On TruckersMP, it takes just a few clicks and confirmations to create one. You can launch with a small group—maybe five people—and off you go. But how do you grow from there?

As a Global Cargo member, I haven’t experienced that early process firsthand. We began as a verified VTC right from the start, because we grew out of an already established division of a larger VTC. We’re still incredibly grateful that we had the opportunity to take that leap—and that we were allowed to take it at the time.

Within any VTC, you see a wide variety of people come and go. Some stay for months or even years, while others pass through more quickly. And there are many types of members: some love attending as many events as humanly possible, while others prefer single-player with dozens of mods loaded in. Fortunately, our VTC offers something for everyone, no matter your style of trucking.

A Community Made Possible by Our Platforms

Luckily, we have several platforms where we can share this slightly crazy, out-of-hand trucking hobby of ours. Without TruckersMP, hosting events on the scale we do simply wouldn’t be possible. And Discord is our lifeline: a place where you can chat through text, but also—if you dare—join a voice channel and talk with fellow drivers.

And it’s not just truck-related discussions. Sometimes we end up deep in philosophical conversations about life, the universe, and everything in between. There’s a core group who regularly joins voice, but don’t hesitate to hop in yourself. Don’t think, “There are already three people in there, I don’t want to disturb them.” No—really—just join us. Listen for a bit, see what’s going on, and when there’s a natural pause, feel free to introduce yourself.

We do offer our platform in two languages. We started as a Dutch VTC, but we welcome international members from all over the world. And believe me—anyone who doesn’t speak English as their first language finds that first step intimidating. But we help each other, we support each other, and that’s what keeps our community thriving.

You Make the VTC Possible

I’ve talked a lot about what’s possible within the VTC—but did you know none of this would exist if you hadn’t joined?

We truly mean it when we say: thank you. Your presence—whether you’re active every day or just popping in occasionally—makes our VTC what it is. Without you, we simply wouldn’t exist.

So here’s to you, our members, our drivers, our community. We’re grateful for every mile we drive together.

Behind every successful event stands a dedicated group of people: our Events Team.

These are the members who devote their spare time to planning routes and ensuring that everything runs smoothly from start to finish. They are the ones leading the convoy at the front, managing timing, and keeping things organized so that everyone can simply enjoy the drive.

Their responsibilities go far beyond just leading the way. The Events Team makes sure everyone is properly set up, from choosing the right truck and trailer combinations to joining the correct voice channels on Discord. They handle coordination, communication, and most importantly, they bring the fun.

During our convoys, the atmosphere in Discord is always full of laughter, stories, and good vibes. The event leader provides clear directions while the rest of us enjoy the camaraderie that makes Global Cargo such a great place to be.

Without our Events Team, we would quite literally be lost. They are the driving force behind every memorable journey we take together.

At almost every race, we witnessed amazing overtaking manoeuvres, but we also saw mistakes being made. These included a very serious accident in one of the last Dutch truck races.

We stayed in an apartment near the circuit and enjoyed a delicious barbecue, homemade spaghetti bolognese (without minced meat, because we had forgotten to buy it) and board games such as Uno and The Mexican Train.

It was not a weekend for rest, because from the moment the first alarm clock went off, the fun began and the necessary sounds, music, memes and other noise were made. From serious conversations to the craziest conversations with lots of humour and respect for everyone.

Whether you were there for the whole weekend or just a few days, we would like to thank everyone who was present and made the Circuit Zolder weekend possible again.

Afgelopen weekend was het tijd voor onze 2 real life meeting van dit jaar en al weer de 5 de editie van de real life meeting in zolder en het was weer geslaagd.

Vier dagen op pad met onze leden waarvan 2 volle dagen op het circuit van zolder. We hebben mogen genieten van: The Dutch Grandprix truckrace, FIA World champion truckrace, en Porsche carrera BeNeLux. Vrijwel bij iedere race waren wij getuigen van een geweldige inhaal actie en ook hebben we gezien dat er fouten gemaakt werden. Waaronder een zeer grote ongeluk bij een van de laatste nederlandse truck wedstrijd.

Rondom de circuit activiteiten, verbleven wij in een appartement en hebben daar genoten van een heerlijke barbeque, Eigen gemaakte spaghetti bolognese (zonder gehakt, want dat waren we even vergeten) ook mochten de gezelschapspellen zoals Uno en The Maxican Train niet ontbreken.

Het was geen weekend voor je rust, want vanaf de eerste wekker begon de gezelligheid en werden de nodige geluiden, muziek, memes of andere lawaai gemaakt. van serieuze gesprekken naar de meest gekke gespreken met veel humor en respect naar iedereen.

Of je nu het hele weekend erbij was of maar een paar dagen. Wij bedanken iedereen die aanwezig was en Circuit zolder weekend weer mogelijk heeft gemaakt.

When we started Global Cargo in 2020, we immediately began looking for people who could help us build our own logging system: Trucksweb. We found two website developers from outside the VTC community who were willing to take on the website development. In addition, several members from within the VTC joined: someone to manage our VPS server, someone for Discord bot development, and a job tracker developer. All of these people dedicated their time voluntarily to support our VTC.

Now, five years later, we are proud that almost the entire team is still with us. One of the website developers left after a few months, and our job tracker developer stepped down about a year ago. The rest of the team has remained, and we are extremely grateful for their dedication and the many hours they have invested in Global Cargo.

Together we are still working hard to add new features to the VTC. Here are some of the milestones we have reached over the past five years:

After 2 months: the first version of Trucksweb went live, allowing members to register jobs (available in both English and Dutch).

After 4 months: we launched our first automatic job tracker for ETS2 and ATS, supporting more than 20 mod maps. From that moment, events were also included in Trucksweb.

On our 1st anniversary: the most requested feature of the time was released – 8 new cargo divisions, giving members an extra challenge alongside the ranking system.

Over the years: Trucksweb continued to grow into a complete system that handles almost everything for the VTC. New features and improvements were constantly being added.

On our 4th anniversary: we introduced a unique feature – the combination of Farming Simulator servers with ETS2/ATS. Farmers could sell crops to Global Cargo but only received money once the crops were delivered in ETS2/ATS.

On our 5th anniversary (August): our developers released another big update, expanding the division checklist, improving the event calendar, and partially automating money transfers from Trucksweb to our Farming Simulator servers.

All in all, we are very proud of our current development team of four, who continue to dedicate their time and skills to create new features. Suggestions from our members for future improvements are always highly appreciated.
