This guide will provide you with all the necessary information on how to get in touch with the Community Moderation Team on the forum, in order to report another player for breaking our official set of rules. Please remember to never try and enforce the rules by yourself! This is against the rule §1.9 - Backseat moderation and will only get you in trouble. By reporting someone to our Forum Moderators, you are already helping our team a lot and we really appreciate that!
First of all, remember to never be afraid to report someone if you believe they are breaking our rules. Even if your report is invalid (which means the user followed our guidelines), you won't receive any repercussions for this. However, you shouldn't spam our system, by reporting everything either, as this may lead to you losing permission to use it.
Please note that whenever you are reporting someone for spam or multiple violations committed in different posts by the same user, it is sufficient to only report one message with a comment to look at their profile.
If you aren't sure something breaks the rules, you can always contact someone from the Forum Moderation Team and simply ask if [this] is against the rules.
Now, if you wish to inform our team about someone breaking the forum rules, here's how to do it:
The first thing you should do is find the post/comment/status update that you want to report. You must report the exact post that you believe is breaking our forum rules and not just any post by the user. If the user is spamming the forum or sending multiple inappropriate comments, you can either report them as well or mention that in the "Optional Comments" section (See 2.2 Optional comments).
After you have located the correct post you want to report, all you need to do is press the Report button and then submit. Additionally, you can add some comments for the Community Moderation Team to review, such as: "I believe they are backseat moderating", "User sent multiple off-topic posts, or ‘’I would suggest checking their account" if you wish.
Our Community Moderation Team will review the whole situation, gather the evidence necessary, and take appropriate action against the reported user(s). Unfortunately, at this moment in time, there is no way to check the status of your report. However, we can guarantee that all reports are reviewed as soon as possible!
Here are some frequently asked questions that you may find useful if you didn't find an answer to your issue above.
Q:
Can I contact staff about my report?A:
No, you should not contact the Community Moderation Team in regards to your report as per rule §4.2 - Forum topics, posts, status updates, and private messages. Your report will be reviewed as soon as possible and our Community Moderation Team will handle it as per their internal procedures.Q:
How can I report inappropriate signatures/avatars/banners ?A:
In order to report signatures, avatars, or banners, you should find any post/status update made by the user and report them. In the "Optional Comments" section add a comment like:"The signature is over 150px in height"
"The avatar or/and banner of this user is inappropriate".
Q:
How long does it take for a report to be reviewed?A:
Depending on the number of reports pending and active moderators on the forum, it usually takes around a couple of hours for the report to be reviewed and actions to be taken. However, there may be cases where a report can take longer, due to additional investigations required or/and the report is awaiting revision by the management team.Q:
Can I report staff through the forum reports system?A:
It's allowed to use this system to report staff members. Such reports are then passed onto the respective management team of the reported staff member. The rest of the internal procedures are handled by Management. However, it's advised to use the feedback system as this is the official procedure to report staff violating official TruckersMP Rules.Should you have any other questions in regards to the Forum Report System, don't hesitate to contact our team!
