Exciting news! We are pleased to announce that the Renault Trucks E-Tech T is the first electric vehicle to join Euro Truck Simulator 2 and can now be driven in the Quick Jobs section in the game! Our ongoing partnership with Renault Trucks enables us to offer our incredible solution this cutting-edge, fully electric truck.

Back in April, we announced on this blog that the E-Tech T would be the first EV in Euro Truck Simulator. Following this announcement, Renault Trucks graciously invited us to attend the grand launch event of the Renault Trucks E-Tech T, called Good Truck, with its innovative LumiLor paint finish, at its headquarters in Lyon. Following the announcement, Renault Trucks is currently taking this truck to a roadshow in Europe. It was a pleasure to share this event with #BestCommunityEver with a live broadcast directly from the venue. In this live broadcast, we showcased the Renault Trucks E-Tech T in Euro Truck Simulator 2 for the first time, and you can watch the recording below.

Now let's take a closer look at this electric wonder! Renault Trucks E-Tech T features a normal Renault T cab with a completely new interior and 4x2 chassis. The drivetrain features three electric motors mounted next to the transmission in the middle of the chassis, collectively delivering 490 kW of power

The vehicle is equipped with a new fully digital instrument cluster computer with two displays. Additionally, a blind spot detector is integrated into the A-pillars. There is also a different interior layout for the right-hand drive option. E-Tech T also uses regenerative braking, which allows up to 80% of the energy spent on acceleration to be partially recharged using engine braking or service braking.

As we said before, just like in the real world, the transition to electric vehicles poses unique challenges in our virtual world. Although our team is working tirelessly to bring E-Tech T to ETS2, our in-game infrastructure is not fully ready to support electric vehicles. Gas stations originally designed for conventionally fueled vehicles cannot easily become electric charging stations without major changes.

We are currently entering an experimental phase, our first steps towards in-game electrification. The E-Tech T will therefore be introduced in a special mode, along with several other electric trucks planned for the future, and will only be accessible from the Quick Jobs section, with the delivery length of the E-Tech T limited to 300 km. If you run out of power while on the road, we have implemented an emergency charging service that can assist you for a fee. Our cautious approach ensures a seamless experience as we gradually integrate electric vehicles into our virtual world

This update will not reset the in-game economy, so it may take a while for a quick job with the new E-Tech T to appear in your game. Please be patient and let the in-game time pass if you don't see quick work with this new truck right away.

The introduction of E-Tech T is a major milestone, marking the beginning of our journey towards in-game electrification, a historic moment for our community. We're proud that Renault Trucks trusted us to bring the beautiful and technologically advanced E-Tech T as the first EV to our game. We look forward to our community's feedback on its quietness, acceleration, behavior and smoothness and hope you have fun driving in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Don't forget we've partnered with Renault Trucks for another community design that you can still apply In this new competition, our community is invited to help the Renault Trucks team design a second paint job for the E-Tech T truck. This design would later be recreated in another fully electric and true E-Tech T vehicle, as well as in Euro Truck Simulator 2. All finalists of this design competition will receive an exclusive package of Renault Trucks and SCS Software products, as well as exciting gifts from another respected partner, Thrustmaster!

We hope you're as excited as we are to try out this first electric truck in Euro Truck Simulator 2! When you do, be sure to share your experience with us on X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
