Heavy machines mean roaring stands

Truck races have been part of Circuit Zolder for many years. The FIA European Truck Racing Championship has been a regular event: it will have MANs, IVECOs, Scanias and Freightliners making the stands roar. This hugely popular European championship attracts around 420,000 spectators from the industry and beyond every year. The informal paddock atmosphere attracts families and enthusiasts, but most events also act as an industry trade fair for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), fleet owners, drivers and decision makers. The Dutch Truck Racing Championship is also on the programme for the fifth time.

Also, the circuit will be completely decorated in trucking style for the occasion. And, of course, there is the international truck show. It is a great opportunity for proud truck drivers who like to show off their tractors with a perfect paint job, modified grills, chrome-plated parts and so on. And on Sunday, they all get to do a show lap around the track. Authorised participants receive free parking on the circuit grounds.

It is a great complement to the flashy Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux. The fastest one-make championship in the Benelux is preparing for its eleventh edition. Even after more than 50 years, the iconic Porsche 911 is still the most successful and most built GT racing car in the world. The favourite weapon is the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992). You will see them in two 30-minute sprint races plus an extra lap.

Because Belgium is for most of us a long way away, Global Cargo will book accomodations, so we can stay there the whole weekend. The intention is to gather on Friday 8 September from 15:00 at the accomodation, after which we will have a nice evening with a Barbeque. Breakfast will also be arranged for Saturday and Sunday morning.
