Our HR team is doing a lot of things in the VTC.

But there are some things they don’t handle directly, like applications from new members who join for the first time. These are handled by our Admissions team — you can read more about them here: https://truckersmp.com/vtc/72/news/56303

Members who apply and have been in Global Cargo before are handled by HR. People who rejoin within 3 months still have their stats. If they rejoin after 3 months, HR will already have reset their stats and they will start again at our lowest rank. (More about our ranks will be shared in a future post.)

Besides rehiring members, HR also checks jobs and approves or declines them when needed. This includes manually added jobs. Manual jobs with an income over $/€200,000 or more than 4000 km must always be approved by Human Resources. For our tracker jobs, this limit is $/€300,000 or 6000 km. Also, if something goes wrong with a tracker job or the job gets edited by the user, HR gets a notification and will check the job. From time to time, they also randomly check member jobs to make sure everything is legit.

Inactivity Checks

Every 2 weeks, HR will check the activity of our members, as they need to deliver at least 1 job every 3 months. The system runs this check and also verifies whether there is an approved vacation request. If a user hasn’t done a job in the last 3 months and doesn’t have an active vacation request, they will appear on the inactive list.

HR will then send them an email letting them know they are marked as inactive and have 7 days to submit a job to be marked active again. If they don’t, they will be removed 7 days after the email was sent. (If someone replies to the email asking for a little more time, HR will decide if that’s allowed or not.)

In addition to jobs, HR also handles vacation and leave requests from members. People can request a vacation to be excluded from the activity rule during that period. We understand people have other things to do besides driving for the VTC — but of course, if someone keeps sending in vacation requests and doesn’t do jobs, the vacation request might be declined. When someone fills in a leave request, HR will handle it and remove the person from the VTC as requested. (If no leave request has been filled in on our TrucksWeb, we will still consider them part of the VTC — even if they leave our TMP Discord.)

Another big task for our HR members is checking that everyone follows our rules. If not, they will create a case file, which is sent to Management for a vote.
