How to use Windows DVR to record in-game

You've read the Website Reporting Guidelines & FAQ and now you are wondering how you can record your game play to make website reports. If you haven't already read the Website Reporting Guidelines & FAQ, we recommend that you do so to learn the rules around using our web report system.

In this article, we cover how you can use Windows DVR to record in-game, to collect your report evidence.


Windows DVR

If you're looking for something lightweight and simple to use, Windows DVR might be for you. It's built in to Windows 10/11 and no additional downloads are required. This article will guide you through setting up Windows DVR to record in-game, to collect your report evidence.

  1. Open your search bar and look for DVR. Open the Capture Settings option.

  2. In the Recording preferences section, ensure you have Record what happened enabled like below. Press the arrow on the right hand side to expand the Record what happened section. You can select how many of the past seconds or minutes you wish to record. We recommend setting this to at least 1 minute.

  3. To save the last X minutes of game play, use Win + Alt + G keys to clip. This will get saved in your \Videos\Captures folder.
     
  4. Now that you have a clip, head over to YouTube and click Create and then Upload Video. Select your clip from your \Videos\Captures folder.

  5. Wait until your video has finished uploading and processing before submitting your report. Once completed, copy the video link and paste it into the report you are submitting.
