Event System Guidelines

In order to ensure that the system is used appropriately and can be enjoyed by as many people as possible, we ask that you follow the following rules and guidelines when using the system.

§1 - Event Page Information

§1.1 - Only create an event if you are hosting an event

If you do not have the intention of hosting an event within TruckersMP, then you are not permitted to make an event on the system.

§1.2 - Ensure event information is appropriate

All information boxes for your event (including but not limited to; game, date & time & description) & images (including but not limited to; event banner & route) must not contain any inappropriate content such as profanity, insults, discrimination, racism, discussing/expressing (extreme) political views, illegal or inappropriate situations. All images used must be SFW (safe for work), and be copyright free or of your own creation.

By using the Event System you agree that any part of your event (ranging from an information field to the entire event) may be removed without warning by staff should it violate any official TruckersMP Rules, or the rules listed here. One of the most important rules to follow is: §1.5 - Inappropriate use of language, communication and impersonation of any kind.

§1.3 - Links

Any links you include in your event information section must be safe and not contain any malicious content, of which includes but is not limited to; any reference to drugs or other illegal substances, pornographic or sexual content or other inappropriate matters.

In case of charity events: endorsement of a non-profit organisation or official donation link for the event by a non-profit organisation is required. As with any other inappropriate link, unofficial donation links will be removed without warning and further punishments may be given.
Examples for appropriate links are direct links on the charity’s website or campaign pages like justgiving.com or betterplace.org.

§1.4 - Individuality

You must create your own event, do not create an event with the intention to duplicate an existing event and claim the event to be yours.

§1.5 - Advertisement

You are not allowed to use the system to advertise other events outside of TruckersMP, including IRL (in real life) events that may be related to TruckersMP. The system is for events that will be hosted within TruckersMP on American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2.

§2 - Event Organisation

§2.1 - Having an event does not give you additional rights

All TruckersMP rules must still be followed on public servers regardless of whether you have an event page on the system for your event or not. Having an event on the system does not give you any advantages or rights in-game, or across our social media platforms including Discord direct messages.

Rule §2, and particularly §2.6 of our official TruckersMP rules are rules that must be followed at all times.

The existence of an Event System page for your event has no significance while you are conducting the event in-game on a public server.

§2.2 - Temporary event rules

You cannot create or enforce temporary rules for your event using the Event System when located on a public server; official TruckersMP rules take precedence over any rule you claim to have for your event. Temporary event rules are only enforceable on special event servers.

For information on configuring your event server, please refer to this article.

Please consult the Event Server Request section further down this article for information on when you can request an event server for your event, and subsequently request temporary event rules.

Community Events Forum

A great way to browse community events, or even share your own, is on our Community Events forum. You can always access this by clicking here:

https://forum.truckersmp.com/index.php?/forum/434-community-events

For your topic to be approved, we require your topic to meet the following rules:

  • Topic created minimum of 14 days in advance of the event date.
  • In case of a charity event: endorsement of a non-profit organisation or official donation link for the event by a non-profit organisation must be included.
  • Have a professional-looking post with a banner and decent formatting.
  • Include a way for participants to sign up or RSVP. A page on the Event System is recommended as participants can sign up here.

If your event is organised on American Truck Simulator, you can post your topic in the American Truck Simulator Community Events subforum. Otherwise, if it is organised on Euro Truck Simulator 2, you can post your topic in the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Community Events subforum.

Charity events are very popular as they have a lot of community engagement and raise awareness to great causes. Regardless of which game your charity event is organised on, please post your topic in the Community Charity Events subforum.

Topics are typically checked within 48 hours. Your topic will be archived by an Event Manager a few days after the event date has passed.

Event Server Request

In certain situations, an organised event can be held on a dedicated server. This server will be set up according to your needs for the duration of your event to guarantee a better experience for all of our players and your participants.

To ensure we can start reviewing any of the below requests in time, you are required to submit your request at least 14 days before the start of your event.

You can request an event server by heading over to https://truckersmp.com/event-request

A detailed guide on event server configurations can be found here: https://truckersmp.com/kb/935

Every request for a dedicated server will be reviewed on a case by case basis. The following criteria will be considered when reviewing your request:

  • A necessity due to the type and/or size of your event (minimum 100 participants).

  • Required to ensure non-attendees will not suffer from the event (at the Event Management’s discretion).

  • The event has proven to be meritorious due to previous editions (Minimum 50 signs ups needed. At the Event Managers discretion).

  • Officially supported by TruckersMP (eg. events organised by partners).

In your request, you must provide full information about your event, including; attendance confirmation page (Event System page), and your community events forum topic (refer to the Community Events Forum section of this article above).

If it is your first time requesting a server, it is important to show evidence your event will reach a minimum of 100 participants. This helps us judge whether a dedicated server is necessary. We reserve these servers for events which will truly benefit from them.

If your request is declined, we will not reserve your requested date and time for a server. There is a chance other event organisers may book the same date and time, so please ensure your event meets the requirements before submitting your request.

Intentionally submitting a dedicated event server request when you do not meet the above requirements may result in a suspension from the system. Please double check your organised event meets the requirements, with sufficient evidence provided.

Evidence will still be required periodically for event organisers which are known to consistently meet the requirements.

TruckersMP reserves the right to accept or decline your request or disable your access to the system for whatever reason we deem appropriate.

Event Temporary Rules

In special cases your event may involve controlling traffic, blocking roads, driving the incorrect way, or anything else that violates the TruckersMP Rules. For this, you can request temporary rules, which are reviewed by the Event Managers. You can include this on your Event Request, in the temporary rules section.

The rules you want to apply during your event will be reviewed and granted on a case by case basis depending on the needs of your event. Our global TruckersMP Rules apply by default unless a rule you requested overrules this. In case no rules are requested, our TruckersMP Rules still apply.

Game Moderator Assistance

Should your event have a substantial amount of participants you can also request assistance from our Game Moderation team. If a Game Moderator is available we can ask them to support your event (subject to their availability).

Frequently Asked Questions

What are valid forms of proof of participation?

The only valid form of proof of participation is the TruckersMP Event System Page - click here

Due to the release of this system we will be allowing a grace period of up to one month from publication for the use of other sign up systems in server requests.

If these are unavailable to you please feel free to contact Event Management via our Feedback where we can look into accommodating your needs.

Invalid forms of proof of participation include (but are not limited to):

  • Discord Servers
  • Images
  • Videos
  • Spreadsheets
  • Other sign up platforms (After the grace period)

How can I use a custom mod on the event server?

It is not possible to use custom mods on an event server. This is a feature that is reserved for TruckersMP Official and TruckersMP Partner events.

Any custom modded content that is used on our event servers goes through a rigorous testing and approval process, and then pushed to the client through an update. The modded content is then downloaded by hundreds of thousands of players, with each player downloading anywhere between 1-30MB of data. This uses a lot of bandwidth and resources on the network, so we aim to keep modded content pushes at a minimum.

Can I request the Scout Police accessories?

Police accessories are exclusive to TruckersMP Staff. They are not available for players and it is impossible to request them. We have provided Pilot accessories to everyone for use in convoys.
